Shahinaz El Ramly: An Autobiographical Biography
My name is Shahinaz El Ramly, and from my earliest memories I was a child filled with questions. One of my first vivid memories dates back to when I was about four years old. I stood on a couch opposite the entrance door of our home and watched the neighborhood milkman arrive every day. Carrying a metal measuring mug, he poured milk in different quantities—sometimes one kilogram, sometimes two, and sometimes three. I watched him with fascination and silently wondered, Who is this man? What is he doing? At that age, even ordinary moments awakened extraordinary curiosity within me.
At the same age, another question occupied my mind even more deeply: Who am I? Where did I come from? I searched for answers that I could not yet understand. Later, when I was around eight or nine years old, my sister, Huewaida, answered my childhood questions according to the teachings she knew. She told me that we are the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve and recounted their story to me. Her explanation gave me my first understanding of humanity’s origins through faith and family tradition.
Like many children, my early years also included mistakes and behaviors that I later came to regret. Looking back, I understand that some of these actions reflected childhood innocence and immaturity rather than adult understanding. As a young child, I did not yet possess the emotional or moral maturity to fully understand my thoughts or impulses. By the age of seven, however, I made a personal promise to myself to abandon behaviors that I believed were wrong. I began teaching myself self-discipline, repentance, and self-control. That decision became one of the earliest examples of my determination to improve myself and shape my own character.
Education became another defining part of my life. Throughout my school years, I developed a strong habit of independent learning. I enjoyed discovering knowledge for myself instead of relying solely on classroom instruction. My academic records and examination certificates reflected consistently high achievement across primary school, preparatory school, and secondary education. My curiosity extended across many subjects, and I found satisfaction in learning simply through careful observation, reasoning, and persistence.
My educational journey was not always easy. I often felt misunderstood and sometimes believed that my abilities were not fully encouraged. Yet every obstacle strengthened my determination. Rather than allowing discouragement to define my future, I learned resilience. I viewed every hurdle as another challenge to overcome, developing patience and endurance that would later influence my creative work.
Beyond academics, creativity became an essential part of my identity. I have always loved art in many forms. Music, sculpture, writing, lyrics, design, and creative expression fascinated me because each offered a different language through which ideas could be explored. I also developed a love for aerobics and physical fitness, believing that a healthy body complements an active and creative mind.
Over the years my interests expanded into research, invention, philosophy, and authorship. I devoted countless hours to developing original ideas and transforming them into books, concepts, and educational materials. Writing became not only a passion but also a lifelong commitment to exploring knowledge, imagination, ethics, technology, and human thought.
One of my entrepreneurial efforts was creating essdscom.net, reflecting my desire to build an educational and intellectual platform around my work. I also developed what I describe as my “Cabeman Capstone,” a project that I hope to share with a wider audience. My long-term dream is to establish a small educational academy where students can study my published works, critically examine the concepts they contain, master the material, and participate in thoughtful discussions that encourage creativity and independent thinking.
Like many independent authors, I have also experienced the practical challenges of publishing and distributing books. I hope that my work reaches readers who appreciate original ideas and that opportunities continue to grow for independent writers around the world. My aspiration is simply to see my books read, discussed, and used as educational resources that inspire curiosity and lifelong learning.
Throughout my life, I have remained driven by questions rather than certainty. From asking “Who am I?” as a child to writing books that explore science, philosophy, technology, language, and imagination, curiosity has been the thread connecting every stage of my journey. Each book represents another attempt to understand the world and to contribute something meaningful to it.
